Regressing to Black

Yes, yes, yes, the inevitable has happened! I have changed the template to minima black! I can no longer deny it, black appeals to my senses! Okay, so I just really dig the colour...but you get the point!! I wish I was knowledgable enough in HTML/CSS to create my own template, alas, it may never be!

Bwah, it was nine weeks tests these past two days, but I'm officially off school now, woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Dad and I do something interesting today, I don't want to dawdle around the domicile today! Maybe I can harass him into going to the parque! or something else...but nothing interesting to say as of now.

Chocoholic Saves Life!

OoOoO! Today was great!! I got to sleep in and when I dragged myself out to the living room Dad was up reading his Bible, so I curled up next to him on teh couch and he held me for awhile while I dozed on his chest. Then I went and read Bible, ate breakfast, watched 30 minute meals and took a shower. Then we trekked out to the Health Food Store and I got chocolatiefied!! We got some dark chocolate chips and some Soy Delicious Chocolate Obsession "ice cream" I swear, it's better than Ben & Jerry's!! It has not just chocolate "ice cream" but chocolate sauce and flakes, its creamy and yummy and just delicioso!!

Also, as we were driving home (down the backroads for a change) we almost saw this turtle trying to cross the road! Dad let me out and I got him out of harm's way, if I hadn't been afraid of being hit meself I woulda put him on the side of the road he was trying to go to...but atleast he isn't roadart now!! He was soo beautiful, gotta love turtles...

What I ate today:
Cereal & soymilk, toast

chocolate chips
leftover pot pie
Chocolate Obsession "ice cream"

Still Returning

Halloa! Begging you pardon for not posting for 4 days, but I've had a horribly poopy week.

Not that anyone died or anything...just kinda blah, the nine weeks is drawing to a close, everything is rushing towards due dates, tests and exemptions and all that bureacracy (they didn't have me in the book the first day of exemptions! :P)! Katie got sick for takeout the other day (see why cooking at home is better?), and even Valentina seemed kind of ready for it to end. Luckily, Fall Break occureth on 21st (Thursday o' next week) and I'll be FREE! Then a whole new nine weeks to start over, again!

Great Expectations is awesome (literally)! I've read A Christmas Carol and A Tale of Two Cities before, but didn't really dig the former, I think it was the way it was written. The latter was in 4th grade I believe and totally soared of my head at the time, but I do think Dickens (I mean, like everyone else since his time has said) is an genius writer, who needs TV when you have such beautiful word pictures? I don't get confused at all except during dialogue, not truly sure why.

HAPPY NEWS: Spending the evening with Chris & Bonnie tomorrow! hoorah!

I hope this blog is not severely boring...

Shalom

So sick of Wal*Mart

I am SO tired of Wal*Mart! GAH! But, as many people are, its the only reasonable option for everyday life - the HFS is great and so are the corner produce is awesome, but for the mundane things I have to use Wal*Mart; most veggies/fruit, soymilks, cereal, canned and dried goods (excluding red lentils, couscous, quinoa, etc.), sometimes even tofu, though I prefer tempeh most of the time. Maybe its just because I'm tired, hungry, and have somewhat sore feet, but I really am not in the best mood. So I'll name some good points of the day:

-going to spend time with Chris next Monday
-U2's new album coming out in 1 month and 11 days (approx.)
-Dad suprised me with organic dark chocolate, carrots, and garlic
-Making all A's

Alittle more about me

Having just read my friend Geoff's blog, I have become inspired to reveal even more of myself the the Interneting populace.

I've mentioned I'm a vegan (apian is more correct, as I do indulge in honey occasionally) unless my memory is really failing me. My journey to veganism is an odd one, though maybe a journey "to" it is wrong, its was kinda like just trading supplies for more comfortable ones on the long road of Life. First off, I don't believe (very much) in "animal rights" nor do I believe that veganism is for everyone.
The first vegan I ever met was my belov'd friend, Doug. He is my inspiration in this veganism thing to this day - mainly, it took me forever to figure out he didn't eat meat, because he didn't talk about it at all! (until I started to question him, I think..or myabe I just wasn't paying attention) Once I had learned of this new idea of meat-freeness it intrigued me, and I vegan to research into it, finding the information presented I was convinced it was healthier and better, and slowly, especially after having to handle some raw meat at one point, I began to detest the idea that a cognizant creature had to die for me to eat - especially when it wasn't necessary. I was also sick of not being able to cook, I started out only knowing how to make basmati rice with barely stir-fried veggies, and peanut butter sandwiches. (This was around December) I had felt from the outset that, for me, eating eggs/dairy while not eating flesh was hypocritical, so sometime in February I "went vegan." Now I love to cook and have tried new things I wouldn't even look at while I ate meat. It has been a rivetting process for me, and meeting all sorts of people along the way, too!
People tend to see vegetarianism (especially veganism) as exceedingly restrictive...yes, we are cut off from slabs of charred filet mignon and hot, succulent fried chicken, and ice cream too boot! But the "restrictions" are far outweighed but what you discover when you turn from the norm and have to look elsewhere, also, you'd be suprised how many vegetarians/vegans completely abhor salad (like me).
So there you have it Installment #1 in the life of E l i z a b e t h
